What happens if I damage a loaned document?

If the document is deemed irrecoverable by the CAIJ, it is considered lost. The CAIJ cardholder is then charged a replacement fee and an administration fee. Damaged documents remain the property of the CAIJ at all times, even if they are returned after invoicing. See details: Pricing – CAIJ

How do I renew a loan?

A regular loan may be renewed twice, for a period of 15 working days each time. Renewals are not possible if the document has already been reserved. If your loan is more than one day overdue, it can only be renewed once the fine has been paid in full.

Can I use workstations and the Internet in the CAIJ libraries?

Workstations equipped with Internet access and the main office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are available in all CAIJ co-working libraries. Can I borrow documents from the cotravail libraries?

Yes, all CAIJ members can borrow documents, with the exception of those listed below. Cannot be borrowed: Loans are made in the name of the member, who assumes full responsibility until the return is registered.

How many documents can I borrow at a time?

A maximum of eight documents may be borrowed simultaneously.

How do I return or extend a document loan?

Documents must be returned by the due date indicated on the loan receipt to one of the following CAIJ libraries: Gatineau, Laval, Longueuil, Montreal, Quebec City, Saint-Jérôme, and Sherbrooke. What happens if I lose a borrowed document?
