Me Kim Nguyen

Me Kim Nguyen most recently worked in the litigation group of McCarthy Tétrault in Montréal, where she began her legal career and was appointed partner in 2020. Her practice covers class actions, civil and commercial litigation and medical liability. She has represented various companies and institutions before courts of first instance and appeal. Me Nguyen has been serving the public interest by joining the ranks of the Attorney General of Canada for the past year.

Committed to equity and diversity, Me Nguyen has been involved in her community to promote women in law. She also represented McCarthy Tétrault on the Groupe Panorama, the Quebec Bar’s initiative for ethnocultural diversity in the profession. She also founded the Quebec division of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (FACL) to promote the representation of Asian lawyers at a time when a legal career is not a traditionally encouraged choice within this group.

Prior to her admission to the Bar in 2011, Me Nguyen worked in international relations and participated in government trade missions in Asia and Africa. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the Université de Montréal and an international degree from the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris.
