In June 2021, Caroline Blache was appointed by the Association des avocates et avocats de province (AAP) to serve as a director on the CAIJ Board of Directors.
Me Blache studied at the Université de Sherbrooke and has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 1995.
Early in her career, Me Blache worked with the Laval law firm Beauchamps, Beauvais, Goulet in civil, insurance and family law. In 1997, she worked at the Commission des services juridiques in Montréal for the criminal telephone on-call service, and joined the Centre communautaire juridique Laurentides-Lanaudière in 1999.
Me Blache has worked for legal aid in Joliette and Terrebonne as a lawyer in civil, family and administrative law, and since 2012, she has been the general manager of her organization. It is with great pride that she coordinates the legal activities of her Centre’s nine legal aid offices in collaboration with experienced professionals and employees, administers the Act respecting legal aid and the provision of certains other legal services, and maintains close and constant contact with various partners in the justice system to constantly improve access to justice and citizen protection.
For years, Me Blache has been involved in her community. She has been a member of a number of anti-poverty roundtables and is a guest speaker for several organizations in her region. She has been a director on the board of Centraide Laurentides for several years and sits on the organization’s governance committee.
Me Blache has been an active member of the legal community for many years. She was president of the Laurentides-Lanaudière Young Bar Association, Bâtonnière of the Laurentides-Lanaudière section, and a member of the Québec Bar’s Executive Committee, Finance Committee and Petitions Committee. She has served on the Executive Committee of the Canadian Bar Association, Quebec Division, and as President of the Association des avocates et avocats de province (AAP).
Since June 2022, Me Blache has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Centre de justice de proximité Laval-Laurentides-Lanaudière. The CJP-LLL distinguishes itself from other community justice centers by exclusively offering Info-Séparation and Info-Dossier small claims services.
