The Act respecting the preservation of agricultural land and agricultural activities is now available in the CAIJ annotated statutes!

With this addition, CAIJ now has a total of 68 annotated laws in Quebec and 47 at the federal level.

There have been a number of recent legislative developments, including legislation, a bill and a proposed regulation, that have amended the Loi sur la protection du territoire et des activités agricoles :

• The Loi modifiant diverses dispositions législatives principalement aux fins d’allègement du fardeau administratif, LQ 2021, c. 35, sanctioned on December 9, 2021;
• The Loi modifiant la Loi sur les élections et les référendums dans les municipalités, la Loi sur l’éthique et la déontologie en matière municipale et diverses dispositions législatives, LQ 2021, c. 31, sanctioned on November 5, 2021;
• The Loi visant à moderniser certaines règles relatives à la publicité foncière et à favoriser la diffusion de l’information géospatiale, LQ 2020, c. 17, sanctioned on October 8, 2020;
• The Projet de loi no 991, Loi visant à lutter contre l’accaparement des terres agricoles, presented on May 24, 2022;
• The Projet de Règlement modifiant le Règlement sur l’autorisation d’aliénation ou d’utilisation d’un lot sans l’autorisation de la Commission de protection du territoire agricole du Québec, published in the Gazette officielle du Québec on May 4, 2022.
