Can I use workstations and the Internet in the CAIJ libraries?

Workstations equipped with Internet access and the main office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are available in all CAIJ co-working libraries.

The CAIJ cannot be held responsible for Internet content, its reliability, accuracy or timeliness. The CAIJ cannot guarantee access to any particular site.

Anyone using a workstation located in one of the CAIJ libraries must comply with the following rules in particular:

It is forbidden to :

  • illegally copy content protected by copyright;
  • use the Internet for fraudulent or illegal purposes (under federal and provincial laws) ;
  • modify computer or software configuration ;
  • install new software ;
  • damage equipment, software or data;
  • pirate or block the activities of other users ;
  • abuse bandwidth (e.g. YouTube, TikTok, music downloads).

The user must :

  • respect the rights of use of installed software ;
  • respect library access policies ;
  • protect the privacy of other users ;
  • exercise caution when transmitting personal or financial information;
  • apply the safety measures for which he is responsible;
  • log off at the end of use ;
  • delete all files created before leaving the workstation.
