Three new training sessions related to the special CDPDJ file!
03/03/2021
The CAIJ and its partner, Me Michèle Turenne, have concocted three training sessions featuring the CDPDJ special file. Here they are!
1 - CDPDJ Special File: Protection against discrimination under section 10 of the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms
Me Michèle Turenne, a lawyer specializing in human rights and freedoms and legal advisor to the President of the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse (CDPDJ), will give you an overview of this special file. Me Turenne will elaborate on the right to equality set out in section 10 of the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms (Quebec Charter). Finally, she will discuss the application of this right in the context of Work and Employment and Access to Goods and Services, with an exploration of the related sections of the file. Munja Maksimčev, CAIJ trainer, will accompany Me Turenne. An interactive dynamic period will be reserved at the end of this webinar.
Participation in this webinar is not conditional to the participation in the other two webinars on the same subject.
When is it scheduled? March 17, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
2 - CDPDJ Special File: Racial Profiling
Offered by Me Michèle Turenne, this webinar will begin with a general presentation of the special file, more specifically the Racial Profiling section. Our contributor to the file will then discuss the state of the law on racial profiling, the work of the CDPDJ on the subject, as well as relevant resources to consult for further research on this topic. Munja Maksimčev, CAIJ trainer, will accompany Me Turenne. A period aimed at an interactive dynamic will be set aside at the end of this webinar.
